This artist floor talk with Susan Jacobs will give insight into the development of her exhibition ‘The ants are in the idiom’. Her largest solo commission to date, commissioned specifically for Buxton Contemporary, this exhibition is an expansive sculptural environment that considers the relationship between language and matter.

Susan Jacobs was born in Sydney and lives and works in London, UK. Her practice is multi-layered and moves between sculpture, site-responsive works, video and drawing. Her works respond both to the latent potentials of her chosen materials, and the contexts in which they take form. She is the recipient of an Australia Council for the Arts Fellowship (2019). Exhibitions include Viva Incerteza 32nd São Paulo Bienal, São Paulo (2016); Melbourne Now, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne (2013); 7th Asia Pacific Triennial, Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane (2012); 12th Adelaide Biennale, Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide (2012).
