Tony Clark: Unsculpted Catalogue

Published to accompany Unsculpted, a major exhibition at Buxton Contemporary from 31 October 2024 – 1 June 2025, this beautifully illustrated publication spans over forty years of Tony Clark’s practice, with a focus on the representation of sculptural motifs through painted form.

In this publication, the multifaceted practice of Tony Clark is illuminated by twelve newly commissioned texts by curators, art historians and artists who have engaged with different aspects of his work or exhibitions over the years, including interviews with, and texts by, the artist and his multidisciplinary collaborators—artist Joanne Ritson, choreographer Shelley Lasica and composer Kevin Flanagan—and facsimiles of selected historical articles that have been formative to readings of Clark’s work.
