Ronnie van Hout, Learning How to Sculpt, Darren Knight Gallery, 18 May – 15 June
Buxton Contemporary Collection artist Ronnie van Hout is currently showing a new exhibition titled, Learning How to Sculpt at Darren Knight Gallery in Sydney.
For the past three decades Ronnie van Hout has been making photographs, films, sculptures, embroideries, installations and music that defy classification, confound expectations and challenge art’s confidence in its own worth. In the process he questions art, personal identity and what it means to be an artist. Learning How to Sculpt takes a cooking show format in which he demonstrates how to use mashed potato as a casting medium to produce a replica of his own face.
The exhibition runs from May 18 until May 15. For more information visit https://www.darrenknightgallery.com/artists/vanhout/learning-how-to-sculpt/
