At Buxton Contemporary, the Michael Buxton Collection and our exhibition program are the foundation for academic engagement activities. Our Academic Engagement team welcomes teaching and learning collaborations with University of Melbourne colleagues through curricular and co-curricular opportunities that encourage creative thinking and a deep engagement with artistic practice.
Our academic engagement activities turn our galleries into sites of experimentation and learning, here are some examples of our collaborations:
Performance Curation
Students develop and perform a live concert, gaining hands‑on skills in programming, storytelling and audience experience.
Master of Art Curatorship exhibition
Students curate a public exhibition, gaining real‑world experience in exhibition design, storytelling and audience engagement.
